Robert Rojas a.k.a Soultouch - Lead Guitarist
Robert Rojas is a Guitarist, Bassist, and Music producer from San Francisco.
He began playing instruments at a very young age. He started playing drums at the age of 10, guitar at 12, and began playing bass and performing at gigs in his 20s.
His influence for playing these various instruments was because of his interests for various genres, from 80s hip- hop, rock, jazz, funk to soul, which is why he was given the nickname Soultouch.
Barry Gilbrech - Lead Trumpet
A sixth generation San Franciscan, born and raised in a musical family, Barry has been surrounded by good music all his life. He picked up playing the trumpet as a youngster and has been performing for 25+ years. Playing a variety of styles (Jazz, Blues, Classical, Rock, Funk, Latin, etc.), he prides himself on his versatility to bring the right sound and feel to any project. He considers himself very lucky to
have been able to work with so many incredible musicians over the years and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Alejandro Del Valle - Keyboards
I studied philosophy, history and law at the University of Havana.
Student I participated in several artistic groups and with them we made representations in Cuba and in other countries. I participated in formations such as the "Chorus or at the University of Havana", in the creation of music for theater and participation as an actor in cinema and theater.
My professional life is fundamentally in music and art.
Rob Zuckerman- Saxophonist and multi-reed player
Rob Zuckerman is a long time member of San Francisco Bay Area icon Lydia Pense and Cold Blood. Known for traversing various genres Including funk, R&B, jazz, latin, and blues, his versatility has made him a fixture in the Bay Area music scene since his arrival in the 1990’s.
Rob has performed and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Solomon Burke, Queen Ida, Zephyr, Narada Michael Walden, Temptations, Four Tops, Bob James, Eddie Money, Steve Vai, Albert Collins, Chris Daniels & the Kings, Brian Bromberg,
Island, Brian Nova, The Don Piestrup Big Band, Rudy Salvini Big Band, The Red Hot Blues Sisters, JD and the Love Bandits, The Legendary 4-Nikators, Bay Area All-Stars, Early Man, Annie Sampson, Paula Harris, FLO - Funky Latin Orchestra, PMO- Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Havana Blowcats, and many others.
Rob attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston ( Music Performance), University of Colorado (BA in Clarinet and Jazz Studies & Philosophy degree) and the University of Denver Law School (JD- Law Degree).
Paul Lyons - Trombone, Chromatic Harmonica, Composer, Arranger
Paul has been playing and writing music in the San Francisco music scene since the 1980s. Besides playing with the Mission Varrio Project, for many years he played with extraordinary top salsa bands in the Bay Area. With a great love for the music of New Orleans and the Caribbean, Paul brings his funky trombone and polyrhythmic grooves to the band.
When he migrated to the USA he made a transition to the bass guitar with his percussive knowledge he integrated the concept to his style of songwriting and composing which you can hear in his current recordings. In his career as a bass musician he has played with local bands Zorro, Malo, Jorge Santana Band, Tribu, to name a few among other San Francisco local bands. He has been writing and composing since the 1980's and continues to write music to this day with his band Mission Varrio Project. He has directed his own music video titled Red Planet and has four EPs out available on all major streaming platforms with all original songs. His latest EP was written during the 2020 lockdowns and released all within six months.
Marcus Lopez - Band Leader/Bass Player/Producer for M.V.P.
Marcus started his career with music very early in the streets of his home land Cuba. He started playing percussion in the neighborhood with friends where he learned afro cuban rhythms.
